Galeta is a renowned bakery wholesaler supplying coffee shops, retailers, hotels, caterers and London market stalls, with a reputation for quality bakes across numerous categories. When Galeta approached us to develop products , the opportunity was clear: build a development engine capable of supporting a bakery with over 15 live categories and a continuously expanding customer base.

Setting the scene
Galeta already sat among London’s top bakery wholesalers, with a skilled production team and a loyal customer base across hospitality and retail. But managing such a broad product universe meant they needed more than just recipe support. They required a bridge between the office team and the bakery: someone who spoke the language of production while understanding commercial strategy, brand values and operational constraints.
Our role became that of several high-level functions simultaneously: technical lead, NPD manager, procurement support, creative partner and strategic advisor. The aim wasn’t to change Galeta, it was to compliment what made them special and create the structure that allowed the business to expand its offer while maintaining its signature quality.
Bridging the gap between office and oven
Working as an integrated extension of the Galeta team, we led NPD and EPD launches, starting with benchmarking sessions, trend research and whitespace analysis, before moving into recipe development, testing and technical handover for scale-up in the bakery. Embedding a consistent development pipeline, introducing seasonal LTOs, maintaining a structured NPD calendar and ensuring product launches were aligned with both customer demand and operational feasibility.
Alongside development, we produced the full suite of content for Galeta’s website, specification sheets and marketing, including shoots, campaign assets and market photography. We also supported internal processes through production bottleneck analysis, efficiency reviews, equipment recommendations and R&D documentation.
Throughout, we acted as brand guardians, ensuring every new launch upheld Galeta’s high standards.
The Outcome
Galeta’s offer has expanded significantly, with over 20 SKUs launched across multiple categories and a continuous development pipeline now in place. By combining hands-on product development with commercial and technical support, the team has been able to scale their ambition while staying true to the artisanal quality that defines their brand.
